Oh my goodness, you all have to try this Sweet Apple Chicken Sausage Pasta! It’s so incredibly yummy, and only takes 20 minutes to make! Perfect for those busy weeknights when you just don't feel like cooking, but still want something delicious and satisfying.
Ingredients:
- 12 oz. gluten-free pasta
- 12 oz. sweet apple chicken sausage
- 1 red bell pepper
- 1/2 red onion
- 1/3 cup apple cider
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 2 Tbsp. olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
- Cook the pasta according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- While the pasta is cooking, slice the chicken sausage into rounds, and chop the bell pepper and onion. Mince the garlic.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the sausage rounds and cook, stirring occasionally, until they're golden brown on both sides, about 5 minutes.
- Add the chopped bell pepper and onion to the skillet, and sauté until the veggies are tender, about 5 minutes.
- Add the minced garlic, salt, and pepper to the skillet, and cook for another minute or so, until the garlic is fragrant.
- Pour the apple cider into the skillet, and bring it to a boil. Let it simmer for a minute or two, until it's slightly reduced.
- Add the heavy cream to the skillet, and stir it in until it's fully incorporated. Let the mixture simmer for another minute or two, until it thickens up a bit.
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet, and stir it until it's fully coated with the sauce. Cook for another minute or so, until everything is heated through.
This Sweet Apple Chicken Sausage Pasta is absolutely divine! The combination of flavors is simply amazing— the sweetness from the apple chicken sausage and apple cider, the slight crunch from the bell peppers and onions, and the creaminess from the heavy cream. It's so easy to make, yet tastes like something you'd order in a fancy Italian restaurant.
