First up, let's talk about the star of the dish - spaghetti. I like to use whole wheat spaghetti for some added nutrition, but regular spaghetti works just as well. Cook the spaghetti according to the package directions and set it aside. Next, let's prepare the sauce for the casserole. You'll need ground beef, onion, garlic, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Brown the ground beef with the onion and garlic in a large skillet. Add in the tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper and let the sauce simmer for about 10 minutes. Now it's time to assemble the casserole. In a 9x13 inch baking dish, spread a layer of the spaghetti on the bottom. Pour half of the sauce over the spaghetti. Repeat with another layer of spaghetti and the remaining sauce.
